This site collects as little as possible. This notice explains who we are, what we do with the information you give us, and the rights you have. It is written in plain English and is not legal advice.

Who we are

Studio Mazaar is the founder-led consultancy of Dominic Cools-Lartigue, and is the data controller for this website. If you have any question about privacy, or want to exercise any of the rights below, email dom@studiomazaar.com. We will also provide our full registered details and correspondence address on request.

What we collect, and why

Enquiries. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message. We use them only to read and reply to your enquiry and to carry on any conversation that follows.

Technical data. Our host records standard server-log information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the site.

Our lawful basis

We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): responding to people who choose to contact us about work, and keeping this website secure and functioning. You can object to this at any time. See your rights below. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not sell them.

Cookies

The site sets no non-essential, advertising or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will put a clear cookie control here first and ask for your consent.

Fonts and third-party content

The typeface used on this site is served from this website’s own domain, not from a third-party font service. Loading a page does not require your browser to connect to Google, Adobe or any other font provider.

The Tramshed Project page embeds a film hosted by Vimeo, loaded with Vimeo’s do-not-track setting. When you open that page, your browser connects to Vimeo, which receives your IP address and browser details in order to play the film.

Who else sees your information

The site is hosted on Netlify, and enquiries reach us through our email provider. Both act as processors under contract and may only use the data to provide their service to us. We do not share your information with anyone else unless we are required to by law.

International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the providers’ own safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Server logs are kept for short, rolling periods set by our host. After that, information is deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to be informed, and to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you (access); to have it corrected (rectification) or deleted (erasure); to restrict or object to how we use it, including our reliance on legitimate interests; and to receive it in a portable form. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month. Email dom@studiomazaar.com to make a request.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
